Matteo Dang is an Italian-Vietnamese 2D animator, director and illustrator. He is the co-founder of CIANG studio, an independent 2D animation studio based in Italy. He was born in 1994 in Borgomanero, and graduated in New Art Technologies from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in 2017. Matteo started his career as a motion graphic designer for VICE Italy. Over the years, he has collaborated with a wide range of clients and brands including Giphy, NBA, Adidas, Vice, A Studio Digital, and Shiner Beer.
His work has been featured in many international animation festivals and art exhibitions. Matteo is also the curator of Serato Animato, a nomadic screening event dedicated to indie animation. He’s passionate about experimental and underground animation, editorial illustration, and electronic music. He enjoys being in nature and hiking in the mountains.
